My Recent Shopping Hauls

Seriously, December started.
In the blink of an eye, the year is ending soon.
How far you're away from achieving all the new year resolutions you have set in the beginning of the year?

Anyway, December is my favorite month, it is the month for shopping, because year end sales are everywhere!
Counting down 21 days to Christmas (another excuse for shopping), I'm getting more and more excited.
Let's see my shopping hauls recently :D

#1: Contrast color chiffon pleated dress
Picked this dress to create a sweet college girl look.
I would match it with a satchel and a pair of loafers/ oxfords shoes.

#2: Marine blue sleeveless dress
Love this dress at first sight because it is simple yet able to create a chic look.
The color is my favorite too since it makes my skin looks fairer.
Perfectly match with a tote bag, skinny black belt and a pair of pumps.

Oops, sorry for the blur photo :/

#3: Wine red oxford ankle boots
My first pair of ankle boots after wearing ballerinas/ sandals for years, it's time to get out of my comfort zone.
Goes well with casual or punk style, or maybe something as simple as T-shirt with shorts.

#4: Printed T-shirt
A must-have piece in wardrobe especially for lazy dressing up day :p
I usually pair T-shirt with denim shorts and sneakers.
Simple yet sporty.

That's all my shopping hauls recently.
Gotta save $$$ for coming Christmas as well as Chinese New Year in another 2 months!
Now show you all another picture of my shopping day: printed lace dress.

Didn't buy it because not really like it at first sight but I start regretting now :/

I guess this kind of situation is common for all girls, I mean regret for not buying something after coming home?

Anyway, here end the post with my lazy ootd :D
(Taken in fitting room as well, Lol!)

Top: P&Co
Bag: Summit
Shorts: China

Till then, see you again! ^^

What Makes You Beautiful?

Okay. Let's take a break from the Taiwan overloaded post.

From left: Me in year 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013

To be honest, it took me a lot of courage before I had decided to upload the photo above.  I was like:

"Seriously?"
"Damn, looked like shit in earlier years"

I hope it didn't freak you out at first look.  If I were the judge of funny photo contest, I would rate 9/10 for the first photo.  Who else in this world still perm her hair this way? Haha, it was me three years ago.  I was not born with big eyes, sharp nose, small mouth or flawless skin, which are commonly classified as the features of a so-called pretty girl.  I had zero sense of fashion and had no idea of how to dress up myself properly (needless to talk about putting on makeups) until I entered university. Eyes shadow, foundation, mascara, eyeliner and lipstick were sort of strange to me.  Luckily there's no ugly women but lazy women in this world (世上沒有醜女人,只有懶女人).  It sounds like a cliche though, you gotta agree with it.  After experimenting throughout these years, I'm proud to have the changes on myself.  Not to say I'm very pretty now, at least I'm better looking and presentable (ahem). :D

Perhaps you will say "I'm so ugly, nothing else can save me except plastic surgery".  Then I would like to tell you that it's not the only way.  Instead of aiming to be pretty, try aim to be attractive.  The word 'attractive' comes in two ways: physical appearance and personalities.  A women can be attractive even if she doesn't have pretty face but with matching outfits and good personalities.  Likewise, a good looking women with bad taste of dressing up and devil personalities is not attractive at all!

To improve my physical appearance, I started to learn putting on makeups before the first ball in my university life.  From the simplest step of applying foundation to the more advance step of putting falsies, I learned step by step from youtube as well as magazines.  By simply typing the keywords such as 'makeup tutorial', thousands video will pop out.  Or to be more specific, you can type something like 'gyaru makeup' (japanese) or 'ulzzang makeup' (korean) to learn different makeup styles.

To improve my sensitivity to latest trends of fashion, I always refer to magazines such as Cleo and Sisters.  Besides, fashion bloggers Cheesis and Chuckei are my fashion icons too.  Love the ways they match their daily outfits.  By observing how people dressing up themselves, I'm sure you can learn a few tips which are sufficient to give you a nice look.  The important point here is, never afraid of or get tired of trying.  Keep trying until you found the style which suits you the most.

Of course, bear in mind that miracle will not happen without putting in effort, you will not suddenly wake up in the morning and see Angelina Jolie's face in the mirror.  Lol.
So, what chu waiting for?

Good luck and go be beautiful!

* Not gonna tell you how to be attractive from the aspect of personalities because I still have a long way to go haha!

Spring 2013 Fashion Trends

Chinese new year is just around the corner. Have you done your new year shopping? If not, perhaps you can add some of the following spring fashion items/elements into your shopping list!

#1:  Short suits
This is the hot key for spring fashion 2013 in most fashion webpages. It is simple to match and yet look really trendy. You can choose darker color such as black or navy blue for attending formal events or brighter color like vintage pink or bright red for afternoon high tea with besties.

#2: Peplum
Peplum is refering to a short flared, gathered, or pleated strip of fabric attached at the waist of a woman's jacket, dress, or blouse. To have a chic look, you can get a peplum dress or match a peplum top with a body-con skirt. If you want a casual look, a pastel color peplum top with shorts will do.

#3: Bermuda shorts
If you are a pants lover, you might love bermuda pants - slouchy, cool-girl, flattering shorts. Too bad is that it might not really suits Asian with smaller body figure like me. Match it with a pair of heels will be better.

#4: Bold stripes
Vertical or horizontal stripes? I think you can go for either one or even have both in one piece! Matching a bold stripes over-sized top with a pair of skinny jeans and loafers are trendy enough for you to go out.

#5: Shoulder-cutout top
This gonna be a must-have item especially for those korean fashion lover. It's been a while in the market but I think it will last for at least one season!

How about shoes?
For flats, I will definitely go for loafers because it's easy matching and suitable for most people. By the way, I'm planning to get a pair of sneakers too!

However, being stylish or fashionable is not by putting all these elements in one shot. We ought to mix and match. I believe most girls will spend at least 15 minutes on matching their outfits before going out. Headache huh? There's a solution actually - www.polyvore.com. It's a website where you can create and design your own look easily.

Here are some examples created by me :D

Casual short suits

Sunday grocery shopping look

Chic peplum outfit

Hope the above information is useful for you. Go play around with polyvore and share the one you created with me k!

Cheers!^^
