Liebster Award

After seeing many bloggers wrote about Liebster Awards, this is my turn.  Liebster means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome in German.  For your information, this is just a virtual award and there's no prizes be given.  Everyone can be the winner as long as being nominated and nominate other blogs, just like a chain of blog posts.  Not so sure about the origin but I guess the main intentions are to discover new blogs as well as to connect with other bloggers in this big community.

1. Favorite makeup style.
  - Ulzzang inspired style. Love their flawless skin, winged eye and thick eyebrow.

2. Something that you have learned recently.
  - I keep learning from mistakes!

3. Beauty products that you can't live without.
  - Hada Labo hydrating lotion, Biore UV Aqua Watery BB cream

4. Your favorite bloggers.
  - Xiaxue, Chessie and Chuckei.  I would say they are my inspiration to keep blogging :)

5. A sentence that describe yourself.
  - A simple person who breaths, loves and blogs on earth.

6. Your favorite handbag brands.
  - I love Charles & Keith, Carlo Rino bags, so young and chic!

7. Gold or diamond?
  - Gold because the value keep going up!

8. Korean or American beauty brand?
  - Korean brands.  I guess they suit Asian's skin more?

9. Your daily beauty routine.
  - Facial cleanser >> hydrating lotion >> moisturizer >> sun block

10. How long did you sleep last night?
  - About 8 hours, I'm still enjoying my holiday!

11. The best movie you have ever seen.
  - It's really difficult to pick up the best, Hunger Games: The Catching Fire is my favorite recently.

So I've answered all the questions!  However, I'm neither going to nominate anyone nor giving out any question.  Not that I'm being selfish but this is just a chain blog posts, it will just go on and on without a deadline.  Besides, I'm not sure if everyone will be happy when they are being nominated or just simply say "Ah, not again!" :/

Therefore, I have came out with a better idea! Instead of nominating anyone, why don't you just leave your blog url in my comment box so that we can check out each other's blog?

My Recent Shopping Hauls

Seriously, December started.
In the blink of an eye, the year is ending soon.
How far you're away from achieving all the new year resolutions you have set in the beginning of the year?

Anyway, December is my favorite month, it is the month for shopping, because year end sales are everywhere!
Counting down 21 days to Christmas (another excuse for shopping), I'm getting more and more excited.
Let's see my shopping hauls recently :D

#1: Contrast color chiffon pleated dress
Picked this dress to create a sweet college girl look.
I would match it with a satchel and a pair of loafers/ oxfords shoes.

#2: Marine blue sleeveless dress
Love this dress at first sight because it is simple yet able to create a chic look.
The color is my favorite too since it makes my skin looks fairer.
Perfectly match with a tote bag, skinny black belt and a pair of pumps.

#3: Wine red oxford ankle boots
My first pair of ankle boots after wearing ballerinas/ sandals for years, it's time to get out of my comfort zone.
Goes well with casual or punk style, or maybe something as simple as T-shirt with shorts.

#4: Printed T-shirt
A must-have piece in wardrobe especially for lazy dressing up day :p
I usually pair T-shirt with denim shorts and sneakers.
Simple yet sporty.

That's all my shopping hauls recently. 

Gotta save $$$ for coming Christmas as well as Chinese New Year in another 2 months!

Didn't buy it because not really like it at first sight but I start regretting now :/

I guess this kind of situation is common for all girls, I mean regret for not buying something after coming home?

Korean Inspired Hairdo

Hi there, it's been a while since my last update.

Life is so dull recently, I'm still waiting for job placement from Ministry of Health :((

Anyway, here I'm showing you my latest attempt of Korean hairdo, not particularly successful though, I like it a lot!

To be honest, I'm neither a big fans of K-pop music nor K-drama, I adore Korean inspired makeup (Ulzzang's makeup to be specific), hairdo and fashion so much!  

Loose curl created using curler of 26mm.

Hair product: Lucido-L Airy Hold hair spray

Yay or nay?

There's still room for improvement, maybe I can do a tutorial next time when I'm expert enough?

[Food Review] The Happy 8 | Secret Garden | Zento @ Ipoh

While waiting for job offer letter from ministry of health, food hunting is the best way to kill boredom and make use of my leisure time.  It was also the main reason of growing horizontally/ put on weights recently, other than having sedentary lifestyle for months.  Waist length is increasing inch by inch from day to day, hope I still can fit in all my formal pants by the time I start working later :/  

Back to topic, this time around I had my food hunting in Ipoh!
Instead of bean sprouts chicken or hor fun, thanks bf for bring me to so many atas restaurants during my last visit to his hometown. *giggles*

1. The Happy 8

It was newly opened in Ipoh old town.  If you didn't notice, you may have miss it out when passing by because there's no signboard outside o.0 I got to know this place from newspaper for the awesome interior design which come from designers from different countries.  With the concept of natural and vintage, this cafe is well decorated with many wood pieces including the giant wooden front door.  I was like "wow" (imagine me with the expression of jaw-dropping) once I stepped into this place.

We were greeted by a few young ladies at the front desk.  For your information, this place was modified from an old double storeys shop.  Downstairs there's the cafe while upstairs is the guesthouse.  Food ordering and payment were made in advance at the front desk, while food will be served after be seated.

Omelet rice - a signature dish as recommended by the front desk.
 Look like "nasi goreng pataya" in mamak though, believe me there's something different, just not really worth for the price :/

The salmon was grilled pretty good, just in a way too plain to be served with white rice.
Haha.

My papaya milk - Had been craved for this since I was back from Taiwan.
Unfortunately, this one failed to satisfy my crave, too milky for me >.<

Conclusion: This is a great place to hang around with people for its cozy ambiance.  However, food is pretty pricey for the food quality, not really worthy to be honest.  You gonna love this if you love taking photos around but re-visit? No really :/

2. Secret Garden

Another lovely place in the town.  From the name itself, you need to pass through a small alley before reaching.  Reminded me the story of secret garden, a hidden garden behind the wall, so mysterious.  This bistro was a bungalow originally and was modified into this fine dining venue.  Not relatively high end though, somewhere in between 5 stars restaurant and garden cafe, good enough to minimize the awkwardness I usually have during fine dining.

Talking about the food and drinks, there are wide varieties of option available on the menu.  Spaghetti, steak, pork knuckle, soups, salads, fruits juices, liquors as well as some finger foods.

Here are the food we ordered :D

Cappuccino soup as appetizer (Yes, cappuccino!)
The taste is quite special and new to me, highly recommended! 

My aglio olio - Taste average, served with garlic bread and a big juicy mushroom (thumb up for the mushroom LOL)

His spaghetti (Forgot the name)

Conclusion: The food is not bad even though the price is quite high too :/ Thumb up for the great environment and service.  A great place to dine especially for celebrating special occasions (birthday, anniversary, gathering, you name it!)

3. Sushi Zento

Visited this place for lunch before leaving Ipoh.  A typical japanese restaurant like Sushi zanmai, Sakae sushi or sushi king.  Serving sushi, temaki, sashimi, teppanyaki, donburi, ramen and some of these come in set meal too. Didn't take many photos on that day because we were starving after coming back from Taiping Lol!

Taste quite good, not sure if it is because of I was too hungry that time :p

Conclusion: I kinda love this place, very spacious and with friendly service.  The foods are not bad and at affordable price.  I shall try their sushi next time! :))

Review of Hada Labo Deep Clean & Blemish Control Face Wash

Hi lovelies, I seldom do beauty products review here because

• I'm not pretty, don't think I'm eligible to be a beauty blogger who can share beauty tips with you all
• I have terrible skin condition (acne prone skin), therefore I do not switch my skin care product very often. Duh, I can never be a beauty blogger *sob*

However, after using the Hada Labo deep clean & blemish control face wash for a month, I was so amused with the result and can't wait to share with you all!

Hada labo always my top favorite because its products are free of fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorants which can minimize irritation to our skin, therefore suitable for all skin types.  The addition of mineral clay from volcanic ash and hyaluronic acid into this new series of face wash give another plus point which claims to be able to achieve better cleansing effect without drying out our skin at the same time. Besides, this product contains salicylic acid which helps to control and prevent blemishes. 

This is how the product looks like

Direction of use: 

Squeeze sufficient amount onto your palm and lather with water. 

Massage onto your face gently in circular motion.

Rinse off with lukewarm water

See the foaming effect?

What I really like about this product:

• I could feel my skin hydrated after washing my face.  No irritation or dryness were experienced.  
• I have less breakouts after using this product for 1 month, except the few days before menstrual period which I think is quite unavoidable :p
• This product is selling at affordable price (I bought it at promotion price of RM 18.90 in Guardian pharmacy)

Repurchase? Yes!
